Choose your print size
Choose a scale that suits your space and the distance from which you will enjoy the image. These viewing distances are starting points, not sharpness specifications.
8 × 12 inches
Try viewing from around 2–3 feet. An intimate scale for a desk, shelf, or small wall grouping. Choose a frame made for an 8 × 12-inch print, or a larger frame with a correctly sized mat opening.
12 × 18 inches
Try viewing from around 3–5 feet. A versatile choice above a writing desk, nightstand, or narrow console. Choose a 12 × 18-inch frame, or add a mat within a larger frame.
16 × 24 inches
Try viewing from around 4–7 feet. A generous wall piece for a bedroom, living room, or above a sideboard. Measure the surrounding wall and choose a 16 × 24-inch frame; a mat increases the overall footprint.
24 × 36 inches
Try viewing from around 6–10 feet. A statement scale for an open wall or a room with space to step back. Choose a 24 × 36-inch frame and check its weight and mounting requirements.
Perceived detail depends on the original artwork, print size, lighting, and viewing distance. A larger print does not add detail to the source image and may reveal texture or softness at close range. These recommendations are about comfortable placement, not a guarantee of sharpness or a verified print-resolution specification.
